Quantum Talent and Learning Centre Amsterdam
“Building Quantum Talent for Tomorrow’s Institutions and Industries”
Welcome to Amsterdam’s Quantum Talent & Learning Centre!
Mission & Vision
The Quantum Talent & Learning Centre Amsterdam (QTLC-A) at Quantum Delta Amsterdam is a collaborative hub and education centre which has the mission to attract, develop and increase the talent working in quantum technology.
The QTLC-A achieves this by stimulating cooperation between quantum businesses, universities, colleges and other industries and through various projects focused on integrating quantum education into various educational programs, organizing educational events and facilitating internships in quantum technology.
The following fundamental goals outline the mission of the QTLC-A:
Bridging the gap between respective academic institutions – such as universities, higher professional education (HBO) and secondary vocational education (MBO)- and the industry by translating scientifically acquired knowledge into practical, real-world applications and matching educational programs to the needs of industrial and societal partners.
Fostering a culture of lifelong learning by offering workshops and courses for professionals and developing practical labs, educational material and various support for personal and professional growth.
Facilitating projects, internships and other hands-on experiences for students and educators to develop the required practical skills and gain experience in working in a professional quantum environment.
With this mission, the QTLC-A hopes to build towards her vision: a vibrant and sustainable quantum ecosystem of the Netherlands.
Origin & Organisational Structure
The Quantum Talent & Learning Centre Amsterdam (QTLC-A) is part of the Quantum Delta Netherlands (QDNL) initiative, established by the Nationaal Groeifonds in 2021 to build a strong quantum ecosystem in the Netherlands. A key goal of this initiative is to create an educational environment that nurtures top talent in quantum technology.
QTLC-A is one of four regional talent & learning centres, with others in Delft/Leiden, Enschede, and Eindhoven. Each QTLC serves as a hub for connecting local educational institutions and companies, integrating quantum technology into the Dutch education system, and fostering the development of future quantum professionals.
Located within the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS/HvA), QTLC-A primarily focuses on projects involving AUAS students due to its proximity to this group. The centre also collaborates closely with Quantum Delta Amsterdam (Q.A), with both organisations working to advance quantum technology in the Amsterdam region. While Q.A focuses on ecosystem development, QTLC-A is dedicated to human capital development, ensuring that the necessary talent is trained to support the growing quantum sector.
Partnerships are crucial to QTLC-A’s success, enabling the organisation to offer a variety of workshops, courses, events, and meetups in quantum technology. By collaborating with educational institutions and industry professionals, QTLC-A aims to increase the number of students entering the quantum field and enhance the educational landscape in the Amsterdam metropolitan region (MRA).
Below you can find an organisational overview of the QTLC-A and its links to its various partners.

For Who?
The QTLC-A is specifically dedicated to advancing quantum technology education in the Amsterdam region. QTLC-A serves as a resource for anyone interested in learning about quantum technology, providing clear information on available workshops, courses, events, programs, and meetups. In this way, the centre primarily supports three key groups:
Students and Potential Students: Those interested in pursuing studies related to quantum technology.
Educators: Teachers and educational developers looking to expand or improve their quantum technology offerings.
Companies and Professionals: Businesses and professionals who want to explore how quantum technology could impact their industry.
QTLC-A not only informs these groups about educational opportunities but also collaborates with educators to create and enhance workshops and training programs that meet the evolving needs of the quantum field.
